Barry Cox artist delivers a vivid architectural work with trees, named Tree and Church located in New Zealand. This project has been possible thanks to the precise planting and good growth of various trees.
Each shoot was guided by the hand of the artist, giving a lively and functional work of art for its guests. This work is a tree chapel, a place that celebrates the relationship between humanity and nature. A work of art to live a unique experience! Trees were spaced apart when planting but when they grew up, their trunks and their branches were tangled to weave a living structure. Then Barry used a variety of species to create the walls and covering. Initially performed for personal enjoyment, Barry Cox has been so satisfied with the result, that the work will be open to the public in October 2015 and is available for weddings and other ceremonies. It is also responsible for the development of the surrounding gardens.
About them: After travelling the world and being a keen observer of Churches, Barry Cox decided to construct a unique Church of his own using living trees and utilising his Tree Spade. (Treelocations) After starting construction in April 2011, the Tree Church Gardens are now available for public visits and private events. The gardens also include a shaded area under a large canopy constructed from a Military cargo parachute which is raised by a hydraulic ram. Come and enjoy first-hand the living Church, the labyrinth walk and the extensive gardens for your viewing pleasure, photographic opportunities or private events.
